Cops Out of Schools

Safe schools are #policefree! This is a local and state wide campaign to remove Police and School Resource Officers from our schools and build policing alternatives.

The LIT internship aims at providing young people in New London the skills and the political education tools needed to create transformative changes within their communities.

The Problem

Young people have been #FedUP with the way the school systems are set up been set up since Covid-19 and before. Adults are historically known to not provide safe spaces for students to share their experiences with the school system, teachers, and the police.

HYV’s Approach

We offer young people ages 13-19 the opportunity to deepen their leadership skills while getting the access to amazing trainings and getting paid to do so.
